Ladybugs Day
5th Hygiene Kit Making Day
On April 14th, 2018, over 40 volunteers from USC, Cal State Fullerton, Mending Kids International and the community came together for our 5th Hygiene Kit Making Day.
Together we were able to create over 400 hygiene kits with everything from a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, lotion, comb and of course, feminine hygiene supplies.
Over 300 hygiene kits were donated to the Los Angeles Mission and 80 fully stocked hygiene kits to the Volunteers of America.
We had the honor to add a new beneficiary to our organization, Volunteers of America - Boyle Heights, who provide a variety of social services to homeless youth, women and families. Their Boyle Heights Street Outreach focuses on serving runaway homeless youth. They have a drop-in center for ages 16-21 to receive assistance with case management, supportive services, legal services, transportation, housing, employment/education and medical benefits.

"Our “Friends and Neighbors” who come to us every day for a shower and clean clothing, do not have access to hygiene products and toiletries unless we supply them. For this reason a constant and abundant supply of these are required at the Mission. Without your help, we must purchase these products. Consider sponsoring a hygiene drive among your friends and associates to assist us in meeting this need."
"We focus our efforts on our most vulnerable populations; from young to old; from the newly afflicted to those enduring a lifetime of suffering. Every day, we combine deep compassion, highly effective programs, and an unshakable belief in each person’s innate health and strength."
"Support programs for women including female veterans, single mothers, victims of domestic violence, women challenged by substance use and young women coming out of foster care."
